AUSTIN CELEBRATES DELAYED MLK EVENT
Full Description:
With a warm sun out and memories of a frigid Martin Luther King Jr. Day already fading, about 150 admirers of the slain civil rights leader gathered Saturday at the Huston-Tillotson University campus for a delayed celebration of King's life.
"Austin has become so diverse, and this is a great way for us to recognize that," said Eunice Elliott, who came to the festival with her husband and 2-year-old daughter. "I am a little disappointed that there aren't more vendors or people here, but that may be because of the rescheduling of the event."
