Covington Middle School and LBJ and Garza Independence high schools were removed Wednesday from a federal list of low-performing schools.
The three campuses were among 15 Austin schools that did not show "adequate yearly progress" under the federal No Child Left Behind Act in test participation, test performance and attendance and graduation rates, according to preliminary ratings issued in August by the Texas Education Agency.
